WELCOME TO MAYFLOWER POINT
Welcome to the Mayflower Point Association (MPA) website! We created this website in order to keep our members informed about the rich history of the MPA, environmental issues around the Point, discussions that occur at Board meetings, as well as other subjects pertaining to MPA.
The Association was established in 1957 and the purpose of it, as stated in those early bylaws, was “to provide a structure that will permit and encourage participation by the property owners on Mayflower Point….to maintain the common roads, rights-of-way and Pilgrim Lake frontage and beach; to represent the membership to the town of Orleans and other public bodies on matters of common concern; to negotiate with semi-public and private entities, such as public utilities, on matters which the membership believes can be pursued through the Association, and to promote such other similar matters of common interest as the membership from time-to-time shall decide.”
Over the years, the Association brought town water and electricity to the Point, protected our dirt roads, maintained access for homeowners to the water, and developed a sense of community among property owners. Technology now allows us to communicate through email and this website, and to respond more effectively to homeowners’ concerns.
We encourage you to explore the website and enjoy MPA's ongoing educational efforts about the environment, our local waters, and the preservation of our rural character on the Point. Your elected Board always welcomes your comments and concerns. You can reach us at our email addresses, which are listed in the Board of Directors link under the “Home” section.
