Orleans Conservation Commission

The  Orleans Conservation Commission was established to protect the town’s wetland resource area. The Commission holds hearings on the first, second (on-site visits), third and forth (on-site visits) Tuesdays of the month. Meetings are held in the Nauset Meeting Room, at 8:30 am, in the Orleans Town Hall, 19 School Road (also on Zoom). The Commission considers proposed projects simultaneously under the Massachusetts Wetland Protection Act and the Orleans Wetlands Protection Bylaw. The Commission has jurisdiction within the 100 foot Buffer Zone of any property. It is best if you are considering any construction or vegetation project on your property to establish where the Buffer Zone is and whether your property is under Conservation review. If the project is within the Buffer Zone, you can find the proper forms to file with the town here. If you're unsure, please contact the Conservation Administrator in Town Hall with any questions.
